1. Sodium silicate powder can be used as quick-drying agent and reinforcing agent for cement.
2. Used as the flocculating settling agent for drilling cuttings, the lost circulation additive for bentonite and cement, and the plugging agent for oil and gas wells. Also used as the binder for refractory materials, such as furnace gunning refractory, castable refractory, etc.
3. Used as the binder for foundry industry and insulation materials, and the thickening agent for oil industry, etc.
4.One of the ingredients of detergent
1. Sodium silicate can be made from different raw material, the mostly used are:
- Sodium Sulphate + quartz sand (we call it SSA process)
- Soda ash + quartz sand (we call it Soda Ash process)
According to Rawchem's experience, SSA process product can not be used in detergent industry due to its color and quality stability problems, so we only use soda ash process for detergent industry clients
2. There are different types of sodium silicate, just by the name "sodium silicate", normally we can not define which item exactly it is, to quote or offer, we need to know the following info:
- Liquid or solid
- Modules
3. We normally list 2 years as the shelf life in our COA, the real shelf life is actually much longer than 2 years if it's stocked in good condition (bags are sealed enough, away from direct sun-light, moisture and other incompatible chemical materials)
